This variety of rice is consumed largely by the concentrated population of Imphal for its taste, tenderness, and glutinous properties. The availability rate is moderate and the size of the grain is narrow and long. Most aged people widely prefer this variety (Ayang Leima Ariba) to control digestive functions.
Harvested before 2022 and aged for more than a year, this rice(Ariba) has less moisture content, so it has higher volume expansion, enhanced flavour and firmer texture.
