This variety of rice is consumed largely by the concentrated population of Imphal for its taste, tenderness and glutinous properties. Ayangleima rice (Ariba) is a popular variety and widely used by aged persons of 45 years old and above to control the digestive functions. Availability rate is moderate and the size of the grain is narrow and long.
Harvested before 2022 and aged for more than a year, this rice(Ariba) has less moisture content, so it has higher volume expansion, enhanced flavour and firmer texture.
